Solomun

Solomun (Mladen Solomun) is from Hamburg by way of Bosnia — his family moved to Germany in the early 1990s, and he started DJing in the city's club circuit before settling into his register in deep and melodic house. He founded Diynamic Music in 2006, the Hamburg label that became one of the most consistently distinctive imprints of the following decade. His Cercle session at Château de Chambord in 2019 — a French Renaissance castle, at night, dramatically lit — is frequently cited as one of the better pieces of DJ film from that era. The Boiler Room Tulum set is the other reference point: tightly programmed, progressive, never impatient. He has a long-running Ibiza residency (Solomun+1 at Pacha) and the Afterlife-adjacent world that Tale Of Us built has obvious overlap with his sound. The point is that Diynamic consistently sounds like something only that label would put out — and his sets sound like that too.
