LTJ Bukem

LTJ Bukem (Danny Williamson) is from Watford. He was one of the key architects of intelligent drum and bass — the smoother, jazz-influenced strand that emerged from the UK jungle scene in the early 1990s. His Good Looking Records label, founded in 1992, was the primary home for that sound: Peshay, Photek, Source Direct alongside his own productions. “Horizons” (1994) is probably the most important record in the catalogue — nine minutes of liquid breaks and piano that still functions as a definition of what atmospheric drum and bass was trying to be. The Essential Mix from 1996 with Pete Tong on this site is a document from the peak of that era. The Good Looking label continued into the 2000s and Bukem himself has DJed consistently through to the present.
