Ferry Corsten
Ferry Corsten is from Rotterdam. He's been releasing music since the early 1990s — first as System F ("Out of the Blue," 1999), then under his own name, then as Gouryella with Tiësto, producing one of the most recognisable chord progressions in trance history. "Gouryella" became shorthand for a particular strain of emotional, melodic trance that still gets called back as a reference point. He's run his own label (Tsunami Records), held long Godskitchen and club residencies, and has hosted the Resonation radio show for years — which he treats as a curated programme rather than a playlist dump.
