Cosmic Gate
Cosmic Gate is Nic Chagall and Bossi (Stefan Bossems) — two Germans who met in the late 1990s, bonded over trance and techno, and have been releasing under the name ever since. Their early records — "Fire Wire," "The Wave," "Exploration of Space" — were radio staples during the peak trance era, and "Body of Conflict" with Armin van Buuren became one of the defining records of that period. They co-own the Wake Your Mind label and the radio show of the same name, which they run as an actual A&R vehicle rather than a promotional exercise. Both produce separately alongside the joint project. They play long — the E1 London set in 2023 ran three hours, the ASOT Ahoy set in 2024 was similar. Their live style tends to move from their own back catalogue into broader selections, which means the audience usually gets a history lesson whether they asked for one or not. The Bangkok Sunset Set and the London show are both here, and both hold up.
